Security
Please allow 30 minutes for a security screening to enter the NCI Shady Grove campus. All visitors must sign in at the guard desk and submit to a security inspection. You will need a government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport. Visitors will be required to pass through a metal detector and have bags, backpacks, or purses inspected or x-rayed as they enter the building. A representative from the conference will help you sign in at the guard desk and will escort you to the meeting room.

By MTA Route 201 Bus: Travel time is estimated at 80 minutes. Coach bus from BWI to Shady Grove Metro station. At BWI the bus stops near Concourses A (Southwest Airlines) and E (International terminal). See daily time timetables as hours of service varies by day.
Dulles International Airport (IAD)
By Car or Taxi: Drive time is estimated at 60 minutes (40 miles) to NCI Shady Grove, depending on traffic.
By Metrorail: Travel time is estimated at 110 minutes. Take Metrorail from the airport towards Largo. Transfer from the Silver to Red Line at Farragut West and exit at Shady Grove. Metrorail hours of service varies by day. **

NCI Visitor Parking
Visitors to NCI Shady Grove should park in the NCI Shady Grove garage, which is directly across from the campus building. Visitor parking tickets can be validated at the guard station in the lobby after a visitor has signed in.

By Metro
Metrorail service is available from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Dulles International Airport, and Union Station (railway). To get to NCI Shady Grove, take the Washington, DC Metro Red line to the Shady Grove stop (terminal station). Exit the Metro station on the "Kiss & Ride" side and look for signs for the NCI Shady Grove shuttle. The shuttle runs throughout the day and drops off in front of the NCI building. Alternatively: you may choose to take the Metro Red line to the Medical Center stop at the NIH main campus, and then take the NIH Express Shuttle from Building 31 to NCI Shady Grove. The NCI Shady Grove Metro Shuttle begins at 6:00 a.m. on the west side of the Shady Grove metro station. View the metro shuttle schedule.
To ride the shuttle, employees are required to show proper NIH badge identification. Visitors need to secure a shuttle pass from their sponsor. The Shuttle Pass Request Form is available online.
Shady Grove Cafeteria and Nearby Dining Options
The NCI Shady Grove cafeteria is now open and operating under a reduced menu and schedule. The cafeteria offers breakfast, lunch, snacks, desserts, and bottled beverages. The cafeteria will now be self-checkout, accepting credit card payments only with one attendant on staff. Customers will scan and/or look up their items for purchase.

It is located on the first floor of the Shady Grove building in 1E274. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and offers fresh grab-and-go lunch options and snacks with self-service kiosk, credit or debit cards - does not take cash.
Nearby restaurants are open and available. Participants leaving the building for lunch must use the main entrance on the 1st floor and return through the main entrance and security.
