Annual Lung SPORE Workshop (Overview)

Overview

The NCI Translational Research Program is delighted to announce the Annual Lung Cancer SPORE Workshop which will take place June 12-13, 2024 in New Haven, CT.  The Workshop will be hosted by the Yale SPORE in Lung Cancer led by Katerina Politi, PhD, and Roy S. Herbst, MD, PhD. The workshop will recognize and celebrate the 20th anniversary of the discovery of EGFR mutations in lung cancer and how this has transformed the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. This hybrid meet encourages collaborations between clinical and scientific investigators and will continue the tradition of reporting on the latest developments in lung cancer translational research.

As an NIH-supported meeting, the organizers encourage the promotion of diverse and inclusive participation in all aspects of the meeting, including the agenda.

The agenda will be based on submitted abstracts associated with each session. Abstract submissions will be reviewed by the scientific committee to decide whether the abstract will be presented orally or by poster presentation. Selected abstracts or posters will require in-person attendance. Tentatively, the SPORE workshop will have the following sessions:

Special sessions: EGFR: Past, Present and Future

Session 1: Oncogene-driven lung cancers and resistance to targeted therapies

Session 2: Health Disparities in Lung Cancer

Session 3: Immuno-oncology

Session 4: Small Cell Lung Cancer

Session 5: Early Detection and Screening

Session 6: Cancer Biology

The registration and abstract submissions portal will open on February 5, 2024.  The abstract submissions will be due by March 11, 2024 by 3pm ET.
