Overview

Animal Models for Cancer Interception and Precision Prevention Virtual Workshop
Sponsored by the Division of Cancer Prevention and Division of Cancer Biology
National Cancer Institute

Date: October 13-14, 2022

Location: Virtual Meeting

Workshop Objectives:
The main goals of the workshop are to: 1) Explore the challenges and opportunities in utilizing animal models for cancer prevention research, 2) Identify pitfalls in currently available cancer prevention animal models and explore strategies to fill the gaps, 3) Highlight new and emerging trends in model development, characterization and optimization for cancer prevention research, 4) Foster the exchange of ideas and potentially new collaborative interactions among leading cancer researchers from the basic and translational research areas, and 5) Identify and propose the means to address unmet translational requirements/needs.

Workshop Sessions:

  • Keynote Session
  • Status of the Current Cancer Prevention Research Animal Models
  • Precision Animal Models for High-Risk or Rare Cancer Cohorts
  • Animal Models for Immunoprevention
