Overview
The workshop recording is available through the NIH Videocast.
Metabolomic epidemiology is a complex interdisciplinary field of research that applies epidemiological methods to study the metabolomic underpinnings of human health and disease. The COnsortium of METabolomics Studies (COMETS) was established to build infrastructure and leverage resources to support metabolomic epidemiology and improve rigor and reproducibility in these studies, which led to the development of the data harmonization tool COMETS Analytics.
This virtual workshop entitled “Metabolomic epidemiology on a global scale: accelerating discovery and enhancing rigor and reproducibility of single cohort and meta-analyses” will discuss the complexities of the field, review the interdisciplinary approach applied in COMETS, and demonstrate how to perform single cohort and meta-analysis investigations in COMETS Analytics.
Objectives
Through this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the complexities of metabolomic epidemiological studies and explain how COMETS advances research through an interdisciplinary approach.
- Analyze single cohort and meta-analysis data using COMETS Analytics to improve rigor and reproducibility.
We strongly recommend attendees participate in the COMETS Analytics demo during the workshop, ask questions, and provide feedback during our interactive panel discussions. The tool is available through GitHub as an R package and through a web-based tool. Hope to see you there!
