Research on Hispanic/Latino populations
National Cancer Institute at Shady Grove, 9609 Medical Center Drive, Rockville, MD 20850
Friday, December 6, 2024 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Hispanic/Latino populations are underrepresented in health research and face a variety of health-related inequalities. To learn about existing research projects among Hispanic/Latino populations across the NIH, the NIH Hispanic Health Research Scientific Interest Group will hold a meeting on Friday December 6th at the NCI Shady Grove campus. The main aim of the meeting is to promote trans-NIH research collaborations to address health disparities and inequities among Hispanic/Latino populations.
NIH staff, including postdoctoral fellows, who are conducting research among Hispanic/Latino populations are invited to present their research by brief oral presentation. There will be a special section for staff members with Hispanic/Latino heritage to share the highlights of their career paths and research (it could be unrelated to Hispanic/Latino populations).
All NIH staff members are invited to attend. There will be ample opportunity for meeting attendees to network and talk one-on-one.
