NCI Workshop on Rational Drug Discovery - Overview

NCI Workshop on Rational Drug Discovery

While the last 20 years saw the discovery of targeted cancer drugs offering new hope to patients, there remains a need for improving therapeutic efficacy. To better understand the rapidly evolving scientific and technological advancements that are shaping cancer drug discovery, the NCI is holding a workshop on Rational Drug Discovery to engage in an interactive dialogue with extramural researchers who are discovering the next generation of cancer drugs.

This virtual meeting will review latest developments in the fields of structural biology, chemical biology and novel modalities, target interrogation, and artificial intelligence (AI) in drug discovery. The goal of the meeting is to identify knowledge gaps, resource needs, and critical barriers in the field, thus providing the basis for NCI to better support the extramural community and accelerate progress toward the treatment of cancer.
