Registration and Abstract Submission Form

On behalf of the NCI planning committee, thank you for registering for the 2023 DCCPS Fellows Symposium, which will be held in-person at Shady Grove with opportunities to attend virtually.

All staff and contractors are welcome to attend and support our fellows.

ALL DCCPS fellows are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract to present. Abstracts will be due on June 5.

For Summer Interns, you should plan to present a poster that can be used at the NIH Summer Poster Day scheduled for August 3 and 4 (see for more information: https://www.training.nih.gov/summer_poster_day). Poster abstracts for summer interns will be due June 28.

Mentor of the Year (Optional)

As part of the symposium, a DCCPS mentor will be given a Mentor of the Year award based on nominations from fellows. Please consider nominating a DCCPS staff person for this award. Note: 1) The nominee must be a current DCCPS staff person but doesn't have to be your primary mentor; 2) Nominations will be reviewed by a committee comprised of DCCPS training staff; 3) Your nomination will only be seen by the committee.

  1. Access: Describe the ways the nominee is available, accessible, and willing to meet with trainees on a regular basis and when needed.
  2. Communication: Describe if/how the nominee provides constructive feedback so that trainees increase their scientific development.
  3. Promoting Success: Describe how the nominee enhances the training experience and contributes to trainees' success in the population sciences. Include how the nominee demonstrates commitment to career development of fellows to help them prepare for and meet their career objectives.
  4. Recognition: Describe how the nominee gives credit to fellows and promotes the visibility of their work, either formally or informally.
  5. Outstanding Actions: Describe how the nominee provides additional guidance and advice that make a substantive difference in fellows' professional lives.
