Dr. Siddhartha Jaiswal of Stanford University will discuss emerging research on clonal hematopoiesis, a common age-related, premalignant condition that increases the risk of blood cancers, cardiovascular disease, and mortality. His presentation will explore the surprising association between clonal hematopoiesis and a reduced risk of AD, including potential mechanisms involving the infiltration of mutant blood cells into the brain. He will also discuss research into the genetic mechanisms that drive clonal hematopoiesis and their implications for cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Kristopher Bough of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) will highlight research resources and collaborative opportunities available through the NCATS-supported Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) national consortium.
