NCCP DRIVE Results Webinar: Insights and lessons from the development of National Cancer Control Plans in low- and middle-income countries (Overview)

Overview

The NCCP DRIVE webinar was held virtually on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM ET. The aim of this session was to share key findings from the National Cancer Control Plan Development Research Initiative (NCCP DRIVE) study and its associated publication, and to explore follow-up research questions relevant to cancer planners engaged in the development and implementation of National Cancer Control Plans (NCCPs).

In 2023, International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP) researchers sought to answer the fundamental question: What are all the components that cancer planners face in the NCCP development process? This inquiry led to the development of a qualitative study, NCCP DRIVE, which culminated in a peer-reviewed publication in the Journal of Cancer Policy in March 2026.

During the webinar, cancer planners from four countries who participated in the study reflected on the findings and shared insights from their real-world cancer control planning experiences and expertise. Their perspectives aimed to help contextualize the results and identify practical considerations for strengthening NCCP development and implementation.

The target audience for this webinar included countries actively involved in national cancer control planning, as well as their partners, allies, and collaborators, including other members of ICCP partner organizations.
