Teaching in Medical Eduction

Overview:  

Many NIH fellows are considering an academic career at a medical school. In addition to conducting research, new faculty must learn effective teaching methodologies.  The course will focus on good teaching practices including basic strategies for developing and organizing a course.

The purpose of TIME is to increase the scientist’s ability to teach in medical education. The course will provide basic knowledge in teaching methods, course planning, writing a syllabus and developing examinations.

Registration

The registration deadline is February 15, 2023. There is no registration fee. Note, the TIME course is limited to 50 registrants. For more details about the course and program contacts, visit the TIME website

The two-hour course will be held in-person on both NCI campuses:

  • Frederick: February 16, 2023, 3:00-5:00 p.m., Bldg. 549, Room. A
  • Bethesda: February 23, 2023, 3:00-5:00 p.m., Bldg. 50, Room, 1328/1334
