Complementary Cancer Care: A Physical Health Perspective
January 26, 2023 | 1:00-2:45pm

Overview

This event aims to teach attendees about complementary medicine approaches currently in use or being developed for managing the physical health of cancer patients, including the physical side effects of cancer treatment, such as pain and nausea. It may include discussions on exercise, acupuncture, yoga, nutrition care, and/or other complementary paradigms. Overall, ideas will be generated, and audience members may find ways to generate awareness and take action to improve patient care through complementary approaches.

Target Audience

  • Patients, patient advocates, and community members will learn how complementary care approaches are or can be implemented to manage and improve patient physical health and treatment side effects.
  • Scientists and oncologists will learn about patient experiences with complementary care methods and can generate new ideas related to this care that can be applied to their research or clinic.
