Overview
The NCI Patient Advocate Steering Committee (PASC) Spring 2024 meeting will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Eastern Time. This meeting will utilize a hybrid format (in-person with a Webex virtual meeting platform).
The PASC is dedicated to ensuring the effective integration of advocates within the NCI Scientific Steering Committees and Task Forces, specifically in the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical trials. The conference will bring together all advocate representatives to the NCI Scientific Steering Committees and Task Forces to conduct strategic discussions around how to ensure comprehensive consideration of the patient community during clinical trial development and evaluation.
PASC Spring 2024 Meeting Goals:
- Develop and share best practices for fostering patient advocate interactions within scientific steering committees.
- Identify training requirements and collaborate with relevant bodies to formulate and implement effective training initiatives.
- Disseminate Scientific Steering Committee information to the appropriate advocacy community.
- Establish and share best practices for conducting clinical trial concept reviews from the patient advocacy perspective, ensuring comprehensive consideration of the patient community, with a specific focus on minority and underserved populations.
