Cancer Moonshot Seminar Series

The upcoming presentations will showcase research from different Cancer Moonshot initiatives that support the 10 recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Panel report. They will inform the community about the progress of Cancer Moonshot-funded projects, provide outreach related to Cancer Moonshot projects, enhance discussions and collaborations related to Cancer Moonshot research, and promote the sharing of data from Cancer Moonshot initiatives.

These virtual monthly seminars will each showcase an innovative technology from an NCI-supported investigator, including the challenges and opportunities of technology development and how the tools can be used to advance cancer research. The seminar occurs at the end of every month on a Tuesday at 2:00pm ET and is held through Zoom.

NIH Junior Investigators Atlas Builders Meeting

The NIH Junior Investigators Atlas Builders Meeting will be held March 1-3, 2023 at the Cornell Graduate Hotel in New York City, NY and virtually. The deadline to register is January 18, 2023. This 2-day meeting will bring together biologists, physician scientists, computational biologists, and other computational experts in the early stages of their careers to work towards building atlases of tissue organization at an unprecedented resolution for answering fundamental questions in human health and disease.

Childhood Cancer Data Initiative (CCDI) Annual Symposium

The 2023 NCI Childhood Cancer Data Initiative (CCDI) Annual Symposium on March 24 will gather experts to discuss CCDI's progress and opportunities for 2023 and beyond. This hybrid event will include presentations and panel discussions live streamed from the NIH campus, and virtual attendees will have the ability to submit questions and comments throughout the day. Following the event, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a series of six virtual breakout groups on topics raised during the symposium.

AI Data Limitations Workshop

The goals of this workshop are to (1) examine the state of the science for AI methods designed to operate on noisy, complex, or low-dimensional data, (2) explore how these methods may be applied to key areas of cancer research, and (3) discuss processes for identifying the biological questions that will motivate further advances in machine learning. This workshop will highlight the importance of leveraging advances across fields to accelerate cancer research and discovery through AI.

The 11th Annual Symposium on Global Cancer Research (ASGCR) will be held virtually as a satellite meeting to the 14th Annual Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) Global Health Conference. The Symposium is organized through a collaboration with the US National Cancer Institute Center for Global Health; CUGH; the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO); the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR); the African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC); the American Society of Preventive Oncology (ASPO); and Red de Institutos e Instituciones Nacionales de Cáncer – Sociedad Latino Americana y del Caribe De Oncología Médica (RINC-SLACOM).

The 2023 CCR Fellows and Young Investigators Colloquium is an annual two-day event. We are offering keynote addresses from extramural and intramural speakers along with panels and workshops to highlight the career development of CCR fellows. The Colloquium will be held on May 4-5, 2023 and is open to all NCI fellows and trainees. Registration is supported by the NCI's Center for Cancer Training.
